Facilities and Fees
The club has two main moorings areas: about 25 fore and aft moorings inside the harbour entrance and pontoon berths for 32 yachts in the inner dock. All moorings are afloat 24/7.
In addition, we have a well equipped clubhouse, a dinghy store and a spacious compound for winter storage. A work boat is available for laying moorings and race marks. Fees are calculated on a price per metre basis, according to the length of yacht.
For the fore and aft moorings, all mooring gear is the responsibility of the respective owners, but the Club’s elected Harbour Committee can advise and assist. For both moorings and pontoon berths, yacht overall length limits are explained in the details below.
The club hires a crane twice a year for lift-in and lift-out. These occasions occur in March or April and at the end of the season, in September or October. Costs are shared equally between club members.
Mooring Fees
All fees listed are valid for 2025, and unless indicated otherwise, apply to members only.
Size of boats that can be accommodated
Different maximum boat sizes apply for the various types of berthing facilities available at Burntisland. These measurements apply to length, beam, draft and weight. Follow this link for detailed information on the specifications in each case.
Fore and Aft Moorings
For BSC members, the fee for the sailing season (April – September) is calculated at the rate of £38.00 per metre of overall length, rounded up to the nearest tenth of a metre. Boats up to a maximum of 9.1m overall length can be accommodated on the fore and aft moorings
Pontoon berths
For BSC members who are regular pontoon berth holders, the fee for pontoon berths is £93 per metre during the sailing season, and £27 per metre during the winter period. The fee during the winter months for pontoon occupancy is £60 per metre both for non-members and for BSC members who are not regular pontoon berth holders. For invoicing purposes, the minimum boat length for pontoon berths is 8m. No member’s craft of over 9.8m will be considered during the summer season. Visiting craft are limited to an overall length of 12.2m, but always subject to prior approval. The pontoon berthing of boats in the winter season is limited to 11.6m. At the discretion of the club management, the above conditions may be relaxed if the craft can be accommodated without hazard and, if lifting is required, subject to the lifting capacity of the crane employed by the club.
Winter Storage
In the club’s secure compound: £27 per metre.
Summer Storage
In the club’s secure compound: £27 per metre.
